2007 Coaches Challenge DONE

More money then before, nearly $8000.00!!!!

We are Done!!!!! (2004)

Although I am currently writing this with my foot packed in ice and not really able to move we are done. Coach Dion claims to be feeling fine and says that the only thing that is hurting her is standing up or sitting down. Coach Hines is in general just sore and not feeling the best. Coach Garcia feels good with the exception of his foot that is filled with hatred.

But here is how it went, total of $5,670.00 raised (by far best fundraiser ever), 567 laps run by coaches. Coach Garcia 160 laps-40 miles (and he hasn't run in 2.5 months), Coach Dion (Stud of the world) 164 laps-41 miles, Coach Hines 243 laps-60.75 miles. Total of 141.75 miles completed in 11 hours and 48 minutes.

Coaches Challenge

Okay here it goes, the 2nd annual coaches challenge is going to be a fundraiser for El Capitan High School Cross Country Team, but wait, it's not your usual boring fundraiser. This one challenges both the Athlete and the Coach.

Here's How it Works

Coaches will run laps directly corresponding to how much money athletes raise!
A lap will be run by coaches for every $15 raised by athletes!
Ex. If each athlete gets 10 people to sponsor 1 lap each (total of $150 and there are 41 athletes on the team that = $6150 raised ) pure profit plus coaches have to run 410 laps or 102.5 miles!
Barring any mishaps coaches will run until the mileage is complete (all night long hopefully)!

Reason for Fundraiser

Programs annual budget is $800 or approximately $16 per athlete.
6 invitationals per year with average cost of $200 a piece total of $1200.
Uniforms cost on average $150 for shorts, jersey and warmups per athlete.
Travel to Mt. SAC Invite (World's Largest Cross Country Meet) 15 hotel rooms at $80 a piece = $1200 plus food for 50 athletes.
Annual expenses approximately = $3500 but only have an $800 budget. Plus frequent need to repurchase lost, damaged or old uniforms.
Athletes get a chance to get back at coaches while raising funds for their team.
